Council Turns Down ‘Beds In Sheds’ Application

Wandsworth Council has turned down an application to put five houses on a small site in Brightwell Crescent, describing the planned  properties as giving an ‘overbearing sense of enclosure to the future occupiers, to the detriment of their living conditions.’

Graveney Councillor Alaina MacDonald. Labour’s local housing speaker said:

‘It is our view that this has all the hallmarks of a beds in sheds development and that five proposed houses in this space is an over-development. In addition the quality is not what we would expect.’

‘Given the lack of community green space in Graveney we have concerns about the lack of proposed garden space for a five house development.’
